In the garden of a century-old kominka in Shinshu, Nagano, the hanamomo — flowering peach — blooms each spring with quiet, unhurried grace. Its slender leaves, delicate yet persistent, became the motif of this piece.

Each leaf is cut by hand from a single sheet of brass, then pressed against an ancient stone that has rested at the foot of the atelier for generations, and shaped with a hammer. The result is a surface that no machine could create — alive with texture, shifting with every angle of light.

Movement on Both Sides

This is the pair version of the Hanamomo drop earring — one leaf for each ear. The elongated brass leaves hang and sway together, their hammered surfaces catching light differently with every movement. A freshwater pearl rests within each leaf: the stillness of nature held in metal, worn on both sides.
