RYONA SONG — Born in London. Crafted in Japan. Made for You.
RYONA SONG began with three bracelets and a handwritten card. Twenty years later, it is still made by hand, still made with intention, and still made for the woman who believes that what she wears should mean something.
Meet Ryona
I started RYONA SONG in 2006 with almost nothing — three bracelets, one pop card, and a part-time job at a hair salon in London. I set them out on the counter and waited. By the end of the day, they were gone.
That moment taught me something I have never forgotten: women do not just want jewelry. They want to feel something when they put it on.
I was born in Tokyo to a Korean family that had called Japan home for three generations. Growing up between cultures, I never felt I fully belonged to just one world — and I have stopped trying. That in-between space became my creative home. I studied in London, where the city's restless energy sharpened my eye for design, and eventually found my way back to Japan — not to Tokyo, but to Shinshu, in Nagano Prefecture, where I now work from a farmhouse atelier more than a hundred years old.
The contrast is intentional. The mountains here are quiet and unhurried. The craft I practice demands the same.
Over the years, RYONA SONG pieces have been carried by Mitsukoshi Isetan and Tokyu Department Store, two of Japan's most respected retailers, and the brand has been featured in Bold Journey Magazine, published in Los Angeles. But the measure I return to most is simpler than any of that.
*If women are happy, the world will be peaceful.*
Every piece I make begins there.
A Once-in-a-Lifetime Moment Deserves Something That Lasts a Lifetime
Your wedding flowers fade. Your headpiece sits in a box. But what if they could become something you wear every day? RYONA SONG's bridal custom order service transforms bouquets into flower lamps and bridal headpieces into earrings and necklaces — so your wedding day lives on, not in storage, but on you.
How a Hammer, a Garden Rock, and a Move to the Mountains Changed Everything
When Ryona relocated to Nagano, she brought her tools but lost her footing. The answer came from the landscape itself. By striking metal against the stone in her garden, she discovered a texture no machine could replicate. The FUSION collection was born from that friction — wild nature and refined craft, houttuynia leaf and peach blossom, made into something entirely her own.
She Made It Herself. A Stranger Asked Where She Bought It.
That is the moment a workshop participant described after wearing a necklace she had made with her own hands. Playful yet refined, RYONA SONG workshops use real materials and real techniques to help you make something genuinely yours — not a craft project, but a piece you will actually wear.
