Where Nature Meets Metal

In the garden of a century-old kominka in Shinshu, Nagano, grows a plant the Japanese have trusted for generations — dokudami (houttuynia cordata). Its heart-shaped leaves, quietly persistent through every season, became the soul of this piece.

The FUSION collection was born from a single act of intuition: pressing a sheet of brass against the ancient stone of the atelier garden and striking it with a hammer. What emerged was a texture no machine could replicate — raw, alive, and entirely its own.

How Each Piece Is Made

Every earring begins as a flat sheet of brass, hand-cut one piece at a time. Designer Ryona Song then presses each piece onto a stone that has rested in the kominka garden for decades — perhaps centuries — and shapes it by hand with a hammer. The stone leaves its own quiet mark on every surface, creating nuances in texture that shift with the light and vary from piece to piece.

A single freshwater pearl is paired with each leaf, adding a note of softness to the metal's organic character.

A Piece That Belongs Only to You

Because each earring is cut and formed to order — and shaped against a living surface — yours will never look exactly like the photograph. The image gives you a sense of scale and spirit; the actual piece will carry its own story. This is not an imperfection. It is the point.
